Today I got well into the 4th page -
There were some odd problems with the first column and the writing came out below my normal standard of acceptability. I debated rewriting it for a long time before deciding, in the interests of time, on correcting and rewriting only the parts that bothered me the most…
The writing in this column was 100% kosher, it just didn’t satisfy me aesthetically. The parchment in this column was a patchwork of glossy smooth in some parts and sandpaper rough in others. I had to use two quills to keep a semblance of evenness in the writing, eventually having to sand the klaf in the bottom part of the column to even it out.
The top of the second column is going quite well; the nap of the klaf is even and taking the ink much better.
