Thanks to everyone for your wonderful and generous response to The Dallas Morning News’ article on our ongoing Sefer Torah Project. Your support is much needed and intrinsic to the completion of this holy endeavor.
We still have a long way to go to meet our goal, but with your continued friendship and assistance, we know that we will make it there.
I am currently traveling and will be out of the Sofer Studio until Friday, July 31st. I’ll be back then with several new posts and new media. Please check back soon, and feel free to write with any questions or comments.
With Thanks -
Rabbi Avraham Bloomenstiel

Our little corner of the web is starting to turn some heads! This past week there was an article about the start of our Sefer Torah in HaModia, a national Jewish paper. Additionally, other blogs and webzines have become interested in our site.
See the recent article about us posted here:

Please keep spreading the word about the kind of work that we are doing here – the more people that know about it, the better!
Tomorrow I will post the article from HaModia.

Last Wednesday evening, June 24, 2009, at the home of Rabbi Avrohom Bloomenstiel, Congregation Toras Chaim began the writing of what will be our first sefer Torah. Rabbi Bloomenstiel (below) describes the custom of having a small L’Chaim in celebration of the beginning of the writing.
Watch the video of Rabbi Bloomenstiel write the first letter of the Torah.
